Job Purpose and Impact
The CHW Program Developer plays a critical role in our organization.  The Community Health Coordinator supports the organization in strengthening and expanding our model of Community Health Worker-based oral health education and care. This role requires commitment to teamwork and flexibility to effectively support the RSS team. 

Key Accountabilities 
-Work Force Development/ Training - Strengthen dental workforce: includes hiring, onboarding, and providing ongoing professional development for RSS Community Health Workers and other workforce initiatives.
-Quality Improvement/ Special Projects – Facilitate improvement of workflows and curricula for programs.
-Community Engagement- Develop and implement new collaborations and partnerships. Support staff in maintaining long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.  
-Back up delivery driver: less than 5% of time.
-Other duties as assigned

More Details
  • This is an in-person position with travel up to three times a week, to partner locations around the Twin Cities. We reimburse for mileage while working.
  • There are opportunities to train for and receive a Community Health Worker Certificate while in this role.
  • We prioritize hiring people who are a part of the communities we serve. We work throughout the Twin Cities, primarily in low-income schools and childcare centers.
  • This position could be for 4 or 5 days a week, 32 or 40 hours.
  • If the person in this position is fluent in Spanish, Karenni, Karen, Somali, or Hmong, they will start at a slightly higher pay rate ($0.50 higher).
 
JOB QUALIFICATIONS 

REQUIRED: 

Education/ Certifications/or Equivalent combination of education training and experience: 

·       Bachelor's degree or 3 years leading a community health program with staff supervision. 

Experience

·       1+ years in operations, training, logistics, and/ or staff management 

·       Dental and/ or public health experience required (on-the-job training) 

·       Non-profit experience preferred 

 

Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities

·       Ability to manage and make decisions in a fast-paced environment 

·       Ability to communicate effectively across sectors 

·       Ability to interface and engage diverse volunteers, staff, and patient groups (nonprofits, public schools, donors, volunteers, etc.) 

·       Strong organizational abilities including team building, planning, delegating, program development and task facilitation   

·       Demonstrated ability to lead and collaborate with staff  

 

PREFERRED: 

·       2+ years working with a clinical team 

·       Ability to communicate in RSS focus languages (currently Spanish, Hmong, Somali, and Karen) 

·       Experience designing and launching a new program

Compensation: $24.00 - $27.50 per hour
